Hydraulic gauges monitor pressure and temperature within a hydraulic system. They are manufactured with different accuracies, pressure fluid compositions and temperatures, pressure ranges, and mounting methods. Gauges are also manufactured for different environments. Some hydraulic gauges have stainless steel parts that prevent corrosion and allow outdoor use. Other gauges are vibration and shock resistant for use in high-vibration environments. A third type of hydraulic gauge combines the two with a thermoplastic case that resists vibrations and corrosion for use in especially harsh and demanding environments.
