Chain tools, parts and accessories are used to support and maintain chains. Chain wear gauges measure the distance between chain links to indicate how much stretching has occurred. Tensioners reduce slack in belts and chains to transmit high torque. They come in floating, manual, and spring-loaded forms. Floating tensioners use two opposing pulleys or sprockets to correct tension. Manual tensioners use screws to reposition chains, reduce slack, and transmit uniform torque. Spring-loaded tensioners use springs to automatically maintain correct tension.
