SUPPLY CHAIN TRANSPARENCY
CALIFORNIA TRANSPARENCY IN SUPPLY CHAINS ACT
Motion and its parent, Genuine Parts Company (“GPC”), are committed to the highest standards of product quality and business integrity in its dealings with suppliers, as outlined in the GPC Human Rights Policy and Motion’s Supplier Code of Conduct (the “Code”). Our policies set a high bar for the organization, our suppliers, and our selling partners, and make it clear that we do not tolerate any forms of forced labor or human trafficking. We are committed to consistently evolving and improving our approach, and we make every effort to protect human rights. Each supplier is obligated in all of their activities to operate in full compliance all laws and regulations applicable to the supplier’s business, as well as the applicable standards of its industry.
Motion requires our suppliers to adhere to the Code. The Code requires adherence to all wage and hour laws and regulations, including those relating to minimum wages, overtime, and legally mandated benefits. The Code explicitly prohibits the use of forced, bonded, indentured, prison, or child labor. All subcontractors are required to enter into a written agreement to comply with the Code.
The Code requires suppliers to authorize Motion or designated third parties to engage in monitoring activities to ensure compliance, including on-site inspection of facilities and review of books and records. If corrective action is required, we expect it to be taken as soon as possible. In the event of non-compliance with or refusal to take corrective action to comply with the Code, Motion reserves the right to terminate the business relationship with a supplier. Motion will not continue to purchase goods or services from any supplier that is found to be engaging in human trafficking or using slave labor.
When hired, all Motion employees, whatever their reporting level, are required to attend a series of training courses that include training with respect to the GPC Code of Conduct. Employees receive an attestation that they have read the Code of Conduct and that they also understand the responsibilities incumbent upon them. Motion maintains internal accountability standards to ensure adherence to the GPC Code of Conduct. Motion maintains a toll-free whistleblower hotline allowing employees to anonymously report potential breaches, including concerns regarding forced labor and human trafficking. Employees are subject to discipline for violating the Code of Conduct, up to and including termination.
