• Carbide tips cuts faster than high speed steel
• The carbide tip is brazed onto the steel head of a shank
• It is commonly used on ferrous and nonferrous metals including cast iron, steel and steel alloys
• Straight tooth cutters are used for general purpose applications and where a deeper cut is not required
• They have more teeth than staggered cutters for a finer finish on the workpiece
• Uncoated tools do not feature supportive treatments on the cutting edge
• They are are used at reduced speeds for general applications on nonferrous metals
