• Cup points have a cup-shaped indentation at the end of the set screw s tapered point
• The internal cup grips surfaces, resists deformation and reduces stress
• Cup points work well with soft materials that cannot take high torque
• Hex socket drive types have a hex-shaped recess in the head and are driven with hex keys or hex socket bits
• The driving surface is protected from external damage and provides six sides of contact surface for added torque
• Steel is strong and durable but less corrosion resistant than stainless steel
• To improve its resistance to corrosion, it may receive additional finishes and coatings.
