- External Star Geometry – Shallow external star (E-Star) sockets have an internal 6-lobe geometry designed for a high-torque fit that resists slipping
- Materials – The socket is made from 50BV30 steel and hardened to 40–47 HRC for strength and durability
- Exterior and Interior Finishes – The chrome-plated exterior is highly corrosion-resistant and wipes clean to a mirror finish, and the interior chrome plating is supplemented with a clear coat or painted finish where needed for full coverage
- Large, Stamped Markings – Permanently impressed into the material by a roll-stamp die and as large as possible while still being readable along the socket's curved surface
- Secure Drive Tool Engagement – Detent grooves and beveled edges provide a smooth and secure connection with the drive tool
